VERY RARE specimen from Guanajuato, Mexico. Very shiny Valencianite crystals partially covered by Quartz and yellow Calcite crystals. Biggest crystal: 2.6 cm.

Valencianite is a typical mineral from Valenciana mine. This mine was closed in 2005, after this and other mines in Guanaguato city where sold to a Canadian company. After the sale, Valenciana mine was flooded and no one removed the water, so the mine did not work since then.

Calcite and Dolomite after Calcite on Quartz

GREAT specimen from Guanajuato. Very rare. Light yellow Dolomite after Calcite crystals. Some of the crystals are hollow, showing remains of Calcite inside. Second translucent, lustrous Calcite generation on the Dolomite. All aesthetically setted on a crystallized Quartz matrix. Pics don't do justice, much better in person!!!
